Ride Ready for iPhone, iPad and Mac
Privacy Policy
Ride Ready does not collect, transmit, or store any personal information. There is no account, no analytics, and no network connection of any kind.
What the app collects
Nothing. Ride Ready contains no analytics, no advertising, no tracking technologies, and no third-party SDKs. It does not ask for your name, email address, or any other personal detail, because it has nowhere to send them.
What the app stores, and where
The app saves your study data so your progress survives between sessions. This includes:
- the marks you give yourself on each question,
- your session history and readiness figures,
- your settings, such as licence type, aeroplane profile and reminder time.
All of it is written to a single file inside the app's own storage on your device. The developer never receives it and cannot see it. If you delete the app, the copy on that device is deleted with it.
iCloud sync
With iCloud sync on (Settings › Sync, on unless you turn it off), each of your devices also keeps a copy of its own progress — your marks, review schedule, session reports and flagged questions — in the private database of your iCloud account, through Apple's CloudKit, so your iPhone, iPad and Mac can combine their progress. Only devices signed in to your Apple Account can read that copy; the developer has no access to it, and it counts towards your own iCloud storage (a few tens of kilobytes per device). Turn sync off in Settings to keep progress on one device only. To delete the iCloud copy, use Settings › your name › iCloud › Storage › Ride Ready on an iPhone or iPad. The readiness checklist, flight test date and settings are not synced.
You can erase your progress at any time with "Reset all progress" in Settings — with sync on, on every device signed in to your iCloud account.
Network access
The app contacts no server belonging to the developer. It works entirely offline, and there is no server component. The only network traffic is Apple's: if you leave iCloud sync on, your own iCloud account carrying your progress between your devices.
Sharing a report
The app can generate a written summary of a practice session and offer it to the iOS share sheet, so you can send it to an instructor. This only ever happens when you tap Share and choose a destination yourself. The text goes wherever you send it — Messages, Mail, or another app of your choosing — and the developer never receives a copy.
Notifications
If you turn on the daily reminder, the app schedules a local notification on your device. Local notifications are created and delivered by iOS on the device itself; no push server is involved and no information is sent anywhere.
Spoken questions
The app can read a question aloud using the speech voices built into iOS. This happens on your device. The app does not use the microphone and does not record audio.
Children
Ride Ready is a study aid for flight training candidates and is rated 4+. Since it collects no data from anyone, it collects no data from children.
Changes to this policy
If the app ever changes in a way that affects this policy, this page will be updated before that version is released, and the date below will change.
