INRAT Prep for iPhone, iPad and Mac
Privacy Policy
INRAT Prep collects nothing about you. There is no account to make, no analytics and no server behind it. The only traffic is Apple's own: the App Store when you buy, restore or redeem Full Access, and your own iCloud account when iCloud Sync is on.
Data collected
None. The app carries no advertising, no tracking and no third-party SDK, and it never asks for your name, your email address or any other detail about you.
Data kept on your device
To remember where you are, the app keeps a few things on the device you study on:
- your answers, whether each was right, and the review schedule worked out from them;
- your mock exam results and times;
- your exam date and the starting point of your study plan, if you set a date;
- your settings: appearance, whether iCloud Sync is on, and whether the daily reminder is on and at what time;
- a few counters: free practice answers, mock exams, simulator runs and chart runs used (the free sample includes one Holding Trainer run and one chart run), and finished sessions, which only decide when the app may ask for a rating.
Your study progress is one file in the app's private storage; the settings and counters are in the app's own preferences on the device. None of it is sent to the developer, who has no way to see it. Reset all progress in the Library tab erases your study progress (the free-sample counters stay, so a reset does not restart the sample); deleting the app erases everything.
iCloud Sync
iCloud Sync is on unless you switch it off in the Library tab. While it is on, a compact copy of your study progress (your answers and review schedule, mock exam results and your exam date) is stored in your own iCloud account through Apple's iCloud key-value storage, so your other devices signed in to the same Apple Account can merge it. Apple stores it under your account and its iCloud terms; the developer runs no server, receives nothing and cannot read it. Purchases, free-sample counters, the reminder and the appearance setting are never synced. Switch sync off and the app stops reading and writing that copy; signing out of iCloud does the same.
Daily reminder
If you turn it on, the reminder is a local notification that your device schedules for itself. Notification permission is requested only at that moment, and nothing about the reminder leaves the device.
Report a problem
The Report a problem button under a question prepares an email in your own mail app, addressed to the developer, with the question's id and topic, the app version and build, your device model and system version, and any note you type. The app sends nothing itself: you can read and change the draft, and it is sent only if you send it. Copy details copies the same text instead.
Network
Questions, explanations and Library cards are bundled with the app. The weather folders, calculation drills, simulator scenes, charts and flight packages are generated on the device. The app works fully offline and has no server side; iCloud Sync, when on, goes through Apple's iCloud only.
In-app purchase and offer codes
Apple handles the optional Full Access purchase, and any offer code redeemed for it, using StoreKit and the App Store. Apple takes the payment or checks the code, then lets the app on your device know whether you own Full Access. No personal or payment details reach the developer.
Children
INRAT Prep is meant for pilots preparing for the instrument rating and is rated 4+. It gathers no data from anyone, children included.
Changes
If a future version changes anything described here, this page and its date will change before that version reaches the App Store. This policy is effective from 12 October 2026.
